In the north along the Mediterranean coastline, find charming cities like Algiers and Constantine, and well-preserved Roman ruins such as Tipasa and Djemila. Further south, we journey to Djanet and into the heart of the Sahara Desert, where awe-inspiring sand dunes, windswept canyons and ancient rock paintings unveil nature’s raw beauty. Venture into the medieval city of Ghardaia, for a glimpse into Algeria’s most traditional way of life. Join us to uncover the allure and wonder of Algeria!

Transfer: Airport to Hotel
Upon your arrival at the Algiers airport, you will be transferred to your hotel.
Martyrs Memorial & Botanic Gardens
Explore the iconic Martyrs Memorial (Maqam Echahid) and the Museum of El Moudjahid, landmarks that symbolise Algeria’s path to independence and its rich cultural heritage. Next, venture into the heart of Algiers to discover a tranquil sanctuary, the Botanic Gardens (Le Jardin D’Essai du Hamma).
Excursion to Tipasa
Drive 1.5 hours to visit the Phoenician, Roman and Byzantine ruins at Tipasa, a UNESCO World Heritage site with beautiful remains of basilicas, baths and theatres along the Mediterranean coast. En route, we also visit Tombaeu de la Chretienne, an ancient Roman mausoleum showcasing a blend of Roman and North African cultures.
Algiers Old City (Kasbah)
After lunch, head back to Algiers to visit the Kasbah (ancient old city), also a UNESCO World Heritage site and an outstanding example of a historic Maghreb city with a blend of Ottoman, Moorish and French influences.
Explore Djemila
Drive 3.5 hours to the UNESCO World Heritage Roman site Djemila, which means “beautiful” in Arabic. At 900m above sea-level, Djemila with its forum, temples, basilicas, triumphal arches and houses, is a spectacular example of Roman town planning adapted to a mountain setting.
En-route, we visit Setif city and Setif Museum for its exquisite collection of Roman mosaics and artefacts.
From Djemila, we take a 2-hour drive to Constantine.
Constantine, The City of Bridges
Constantine is unique for its breathtaking location atop dramatic cliffs.
Explore the beautiful Mosque of Amir Abd-el-Kader with its exquisite showcase of Moorish architecture and a spiritual cultural centre for the local community. Also visit the Museum of Cirta for its extensive collection of artifacts and artworks across Constantine’s diverse history.
Enjoy old city with its many suspension bridges, such as the iconic Pont Sidi M’Cid. Built in 1912 and at 175m high, this suspension bridge stretches across the Rhumel River in Constantine and was once the highest in the world.
Flight transfer to Djanet
After dinner, fly to Djanet, an oasis town in the heart of the Sahara Desert in Southeast Algeria and gateway to the lunar-like landscapes of the Sahara.
Tikoubaouin & Prehistoric Rock Art
Visit Djanet city, the vibrant local market and the museum for an introduction to the local Tuareg culture.
Embark on 4×4 cars to the Tasili N’Ajjer National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site renowned for its prehistoric rock art and geological wonders. The Tassili N’Ajjer National Park is also the largest national park in Africa spanning 72,000 square km of the Sahara Desert.
Here, we visit Tikoubaouin with its fascinating rock formations, large rock arches and pre-historic wall paintings of hunting scenes. End the day with a private Tuareg dance and drum performance in the serenity and expanse of the vast desertscape.
Hiking at Issendilen Canyon
Discover the Issendilen canyon, a long and deep canyon in Tassili N’Ajjer National Park surrounded on two sides by rock towers. Here, we traverse the canyon’s rugged terrain via hiking to a small lake – guelta at the end of canyon (about 2 hours, round trip).
Erg Admer Sand Dunes and Tighargharet
Visit Erg Admer for its mesmerizing desertscape with vast sand dunes and Tighargharet for the famous 7,000 year ‘Crying Cow’ rock carving. Local myth holds that they were drawn by a cow-herd, who had traveled to this area in search of a spring only to find that it had run dry.
Flight transfer to Algiers
Flight transfer back to Algiers for sightseeing before a flight to Ghardaia later in the day.
Palais des Rais (Bastion 23)
Visit the Palais des Rais Arts and Culture centre (Bastion 23) in Algiers, housed in a set of 3 palaces dating from the Ottoman era.

Transfer to the airport for a flight to Ghardaia.
Ghardaia & M’Zab Valley
Visit the UNESCO World Heritage M’Zab Valley, a pentapolis of 5 fortified villages, with Ghardaia serving as the main urban centre. These cities are known for their well-preserved Berber architecture, traditional way of life and ancient irrigation systems. This morning, we visit the Melika village and the market of Ghardaia.
After lunch, stroll through narrow cobbled streets of two other villages. We visit the Mausoleum of Sidi Ibrahim in El Aatteuf and Beni Isghen (with the oldest medina in M’Zab) and its traditional auction market.
Flight transfer to Algiers
We fly back to Algiers in the morning.
Basilica of Our Lady of Africa
Visit the Grand Poste Post office, famous for its Moorish arches and ornate mosaics and the Basilica of Our Lady of Africa overlooking the bay of Algiers – known for its distinctive white façade, elegant domes and panoramic views of the city and sea.
Transfer: To Airport
After lunch, we transfer to the Algiers airport for your flight home.
